Our goal is very simple: to create a sense of energy and excitement around the 100th Anniversary so that you and your council can harness that enthusiasm to drive your engagement plans at the local level. We want to create buzz. We want folks thinking about and dreaming about this once-in-a-lifetime milestone.
The 100th Anniversary celebration is meant to inspire, excite, and engage the entire Scouting family. Done right, it’s the greatest gift we can give to our next generation of Scouts and Scouters. We’re aiming to have a quarter of a million people join the rally—the largest single gathering of its kind in BSA history. To help us reach our goal, we’re sending this e-mail to 1.6 million Scouters, staff, and alumni to share the details about the rally. Feel free to pass it along! And, please join us on December 10th. |

Press Release: USPS Unveils 2010 Scouting Stamp
The Postal Service today unveils its “Celebrate Scouting” stamp during an event at the National Postal Museum in Washington, DC.
USPS will officially release the stamp to the public next July during the Boy Scout Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia. Release of the stamp will help mark the 100th anniversary of scouting in the United States.
Since 1910, Scouting has served young people and their families through a program of values-based leadership and character. Continuing the BSA's long tradition of service and good turns, we will bring deeper purpose to the Celebrate Scouting stamp by sending letters and care packages to the military men and women serving our country overseas. Also included in this effort are the many veterans who have honorably served our country throughout the years. Join us in the effort! (more)
